Jacaranda Community is an organization working to train women in the slums of Nairobi to learn a trade in order to provide for their children and rise above the cycle of poverty. On behalf of the people we serve, we boldly ask for your support. All proceeds from the sale of Garry’s music goes to the women and children of Jacaranda Community.
Sometimes, people need to learn how to hope. We’re here because we believe in a better life for our friends in Nairobi.
– Garry Kean
Garry and Brenda Kean and their four daughters are frontline workers in several Nairobi slums including Kibera – an area covering one square mile, housing approximately one million people with very limited running water and sewer systems. With job creation through the trade of sewing, women are learning how to provide and care for their children in practical and sustainable ways.
